Aloha! I’m Fleur!
If you want to be more intentional with your time and engagement strategies, prepared for class each day, and refreshed so you’re ready for the kids, then you’re in the right place.
I’m a middle school Science teacher and have learned and implemented strategies to manage my Science classroom so it fits my needs and engages my students in their learning.
I know what it’s like to have students engaged and excited about what they’re learning,
But it wasn’t always this way…
I was an upper elementary teacher for eleven years and finally moved to middle school to teach Science. I love teaching middle schoolers all about Science! And I also love helping fellow teachers in their classrooms with classroom management, Science lessons, and engagement strategies.
Over the years, I have used many classroom management strategies and time management strategies so I could feel refreshed and ready for any day of the week.
My mission at Aloha Monday Teaching is to help teachers do the same. I help teachers by sharing strategies to manage their classes, learn how our middle schoolers’ brains work, plan meaningful lessons, give strategies to increase student engagement, and create resources so teachers can plan during their prep and do what they love- TEACH! I want to help bring the joy back into your classroom!
What is Aloha Monday?
Every Friday, I play Aloha Friday for my students. In Hawaii, they play it on the radio on Fridays. Why? Because we look forward to Aloha Friday after working hard all week, and now it’s the weekend.
So, what is Aloha Monday?
Think about this- what if teachers were completely prepared for each day? What if teachers found a balance between work and personal life? What if we all got excited about Mondays because of this?
That’s what Aloha Monday Teaching is! To help teachers be prepared and ready for Monday, and look forward to Aloha Monday again!
I’ve been in the classroom since 2006, and I absolutely love my job!
In 2018, I was awarded the MVT (Most Valuable Teacher) Award by the Arizona Diamondbacks! I was deeply honored to have earned this award!
Over the years, I have learned to find this “balance” between work and home. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching sports, exercising and running (the Hot Chocolate Race is my favorite), reading, writing, and crafting.
